"A River of Hope and Dreams"
​
Chasing the light through the Volcanic Plains of the Parwan Gorge. This thought provoking series was inspired during lockdown by award winning Photographer Melissa Jane. Capturing scenes of a river that flows deep within a winding Valley through Regional Victoria that is of Biodiverse significance. The Werribee River that flows through the gorge is an important wildlife corridor. Melissa’s visual message is to showcase not just the unpreserved beauty but also the need for future protection and preservation of rare vegetation and a habitat for native wildlife that use this area as a safe haven, for the river flows through developing towns that are seeing many natural habitats being destroyed to make way for an increase in housing developments and road structure networks.
Local community members and landholders have come together to work towards restoring and maintaining the escarpment for future generations to enjoy, and for those of us that are privileged to experience the Serenity Hope and Magic it offers today, To those in need.
